महाशिवरात्रि 2021 वह पावन दिन है जिस दिन शिव भक्त अपने भोलेनाथ और देवी पार्वती की प्रसन्नता और उनका आशीर्वाद पाने के लिए व्रत रखकर इनकी पूजा करेंगे। पुराणों में ऐसी कथा मिलती है कि पूर्वजन्म में कुबेर ने अनजाने में ही महाशिवरात्रि के दिन भोलेनाथ की उपासना कर ली थी जिससे उन्हें अगले जन्म में शिव भक्ति की प्राप्ति हुई और वह देवताओं के कोषाध्यक्ष बने। महाशिवरात्रि के पावन दिन के बारे में कहा जाता है कि यूं तो साल में हर महीने की कृष्ण पक्ष की चतुर्दशी तिथि को शिवरात्रि आती है जिसे मास शिवरात्रि कहते हैं। लेकिन उत्तर भारतीय पंचांग के अनुसार फाल्गुन मास की कृष्णपक्ष की चतुर्दशी और गुजरात, महाराष्ट्र के पंचांग के अनुसार माघ मास के कृष्णपक्ष की चतुर्दशी सबसे श्रेष्ठ है इसलिए इसे शिवरात्रि नहीं महाशिवरात्रि कहते हैं। इसकी वजह यह है कि इसी दिन प्रकृति को धारण करने वाली देवी पार्वती और पुरुष रूपी महादेव का गठबंधन यानी विवाह हुआ था। जानें महाशिवरात्रि शुभ मुहूर्त 2021 और महाशिवरात्रि पारण समय 2021 ।
